Project 365-day 18

creamy bokeh series - day 2
Pic 1: "field" of flowers
e300, sooc with 105/f2.8

pic 2: perfect imperfection
e300, sooc with 105/f2.8
note the symmetrical look of the flower, since an actual "perfect" flower would have all the white petals around the yellow stigmas.
note: have you tried to stop and looked at these flowers close-up?
they are very nice to photograph but not easy if windy because the stem are so tiny it will swing at the slightest breeze

Project 365-day 14

Posting for Saturday June 18

pic 1: union jack
e300, sooc with 105/f2.8
note: would have been a better image if i take the time to convert to b&w photo n boost up the contrast... but lets me just repeat again, i dont like to "cook" my pictures outside of the camera.

pic 2: end of the road or starting of the road?
e300, sooc with 105/f2.8
just like the proverb half emtpy or half full... it all depends on your perspective

note: well, i'll be damned "teacher" (see previous post), i just realized i already proved you wrong by posting in 14 consecutive posts (albeit some missed days)! n I will continue to see this until the end of day 365 and continue from there on until either internet or my physical body is no longer present, whichever comes comes first!

Project 365-day 13

dang... missed 2 DAYS of posting in a row!!!
this posting for Friday June 17

pic 1: pride and dedication
RAJD annual practice session - taking a break
e300 sooc 105/f2.8

pic 2: unison movement

Note:
1. i was quite intrigued when i saw this bunch of army attire clad "soldiers" marching under the hot sun in a football field in my hometown.
i approached them n saw the RAJD and upon asking discovered they are sort of like a reservist which will be initiated / called into action if there is a disaster in the country.
their main duties are listed here
Rejimen_Askar_Jurutera_DiRaja (wikipedia)

2. i actually was at loss of what pictures to post until i finished chatting with a fellow forumer just now. i discovered that his perception of me is somewhat unflattering but hey i take it in the chin. it gets me thinking - hmm why did he think of me like that? maybe it is because of what i said / do or did not say / do? i dont think that i can change perception of other people towards me, but i am sure about who i am and i am sure i still have many more things to learn about how i say / do things. so i take it as a constructive feedback! tq fellow forumer! maybe in previous lifetime you have been my teacher and i have not been a good student, so this lifetime you are reminding me of your message again!

3. waliu... i am not doing this blog as a word-based blog la... what is all this crap i am writing about? duh... ok next post please!

i've been searching for another sunset to rival the colors produced in this one n yet been futile...

pic 2: turkey balloon in myballoon fiesta 2009
e300, sooc with kit lens
i like the way the butt is pictured as almost "poked" by the sharp "golden pencil" behind it hahaha

2 pictures below from my hometown...

pic 1: smoking coconut tree
e300, unedited
ps: don't u just love olympus blue?

pic 2: baptism of fire
silhouette of an indian priest performing rituals
note: even though this is a silhoutte of an indian priest performing rituals i am "loosely" using the term baptism... which is normally associated with christianity. it is never my intention to offend any religion but rather my own interpretation of the word to suit the picture.

notes about myself

notes about myself:
1. i am not a professional photographer, i am a photography enthusiast who has a full time non-photography related job.
2. i wish i can lug my camera everywhere with me, but in reality i m scared i will become a victim of mugging/robbing/snatching (god-forbid), especially in kl malaysia where statistics of crime is published as low but in real life is very high. i would rather take the safe road than the sorry road. so sometimes i will publish shots with my trusty 2mp nokia 5800xm phone camera.
3. i wish to keep my private life private, so most of my photos will not be the most recent ones or showing (clear) faces of my loved ones.
4. i have yet to narrow down what i want to achieve from my photography hobby, so i will post anything and everything that comes to mind at this moment. perhaps later i will categorize them. basically i am into...
a. candid street (i never liked posed pictures from the street)
b. macro insects / objects (so far only shot on insects)
c. panorama (landscape panorama, n i am a sucker for sunset panorama)
d. abstract (next project shall be something involving newton's law)
5. my engrish not powerderful n prefect. so sue me. :p

so that is all about me n my hobby that i can reveal so far.

Project 365-day 1

i think i am not a verbal diarrhoea kinda person in real life and i am way too lazy to type so many words in my blog.
so i think from now on i shall try to post at least 1 picture a day (or a few pictures if i very rajin) for the next 365 days.
starting from today - 6 June 2011. (6.6.11) until next year 5 June 2012 (5.6.12)
we shall see whether my skills in "seeing the unseen" have improved for the better or the worse.

day 1:

picture 1: traffic light on fire.
note: taken with 2mp nokia 5800xm

picture 2: superboy
actually an old picture of my nephew in 2009, edited by mr jmoh of bp.

shot with canon sx5is
